Bert Emrick's vibrant Lagoonieville collection also contains a number of original screenplays, adapted for various locations and budget constraints. These screenplays adapt the Lagoonie ideas and expand them for the screen, bringing to life the people and places of the Caribbean.

The action unfolds against a backdrop of crystal clear water and breathtakingly beautiful tropics, an idyllic setting for almost any production. Mr. Emrick also has local knowledge that he uses to recommend particular shooting locations.

Mr. Emrick is proud to be a Caribbean writer, sharing his knowledge of the tropics with the world. He knows that many of us picture the Lagoonie life, living on a boat with only the sea to guide us, no outside world, no demands. His Lagoonieville series allows us to escape to something beyond ourselves, a world full of adventure and carefree love of life.

Although the Lagoonieville books are intended to be read as a series, they are not all focused on a single character. Instead, the characters all drift in and out of the story, each taking their moment in the spotlight before fading back into the brilliant ensemble. Favorites will reappear, but usually in the background: they support, but they do not lead again. This rotation allows many different readers to connect with the characters, while providing fresh material that makes each Lagoonieville book more exciting than the last.
