Bert Richard Emrick

After serving four years in the military as an aircraft crash rescueman, Bert moved from Asia to a boat in the Florida Keys where he collected tropical fish for commercial aquariums. He left the Keys to test and race boats for Mercury in Sarasota for a decade. Since then, he concurrently owned and managed a yacht and charter brokerage, manufacturers representative agency, commercial office building, contractors supply company,  wholesale supply company, and three research and development companies, in four countries.

When he felt the calling to write adventurous tales, Bert and his wife, Julie, kissed their children goodbye, and sailed to the Caribbean. They currently share their lives with two furry little critters aboard their sailboat in the Virgin Islands. Island life gave rise to the The Lagoonieville Collection, a twelve-novel adventure series, and four other novels, which will be released in 2008 through 2009. Two of his screenplays have been optioned, and the six Lagoonie-Series screenplays are due to hit the market in December 2008.
